Bioscience Education That Reaches the People Who Need It Most

Nexus BioEd Solutions is a bioscience education social enterprise. We provide free and subsidised tutoring, mentoring and career support to learners who face financial, social or educational barriers, alongside the paid services that keep this work sustainable.

Why we exist

An idea born long before the company was

Before Nexus BioEd Solutions was formally established, our founder spent years providing one to one tutoring and mentoring independently, working with learners across the biosciences. Over that time, a clear pattern emerged. Talented learners were being held back not by ability, but by lack of access, to personalised teaching, to academic confidence, and to practical guidance on the next step in their education or career.

Nexus BioEd Solutions was created to take that individual effort and build it into something structured and sustainable, able to reach more people than one person's spare time ever could.

Our commitment

A history of educational inclusion, not just a policy

Long before this company existed, our founder was already acting on the gap this section describes.

What this has looked like in practice

  • Free and heavily subsidised tutoring across the biosciences for learners who could not otherwise afford it
  • Support for people from low income families, including CV rebuilding, interview preparation and academic coaching
  • Tutoring and mentoring for people who had fled war and conflict, helping them re-establish academic and career progress in the UK
  • One to one coaching alongside subject tutoring, not tutoring alone

This wasn't run as a formal programme with a name or a budget. It was informal, personal, and sustained over years, delivered alongside our founder's academic and Higher Education teaching work. That's precisely why it matters: it shows a genuine, tested commitment rather than a plan written for a funding application.

Nexus BioEd Solutions exists to give that commitment structure, so it can be measured, sustained and grown.

This is the part of Nexus that continues our founder's original, informal commitment directly, now offered as a structured, named programme rather than an ad hoc arrangement.

Measuring our impact

Tracking outcomes, not just intentions

Over the next 12 months, Nexus aims to track and report on learners supported, hours of free or subsidised tutoring and mentoring delivered, and the practical outcomes for the people we work with, such as interviews secured or courses progressed to.

Being a social enterprise doesn't mean every service is free forever. Nexus BioEd Solutions operates through a sustainable income model, combining paid tutoring, mentoring and consultancy, digital learning resources, and institutional partnerships. This income is what allows us to keep offering free and subsidised places to the learners who need them most, rather than relying on goodwill alone.
